Sanctioning Process
Club Charters & Tournaments
Club Charters
- The APPLICATION FOR CLUB CHARTER must be completed and mailed, not faxed, to the State Chairman for processing. Return all three (3) copies of the Club Charter form.
- The Club Charter fee is $75, if you want insurance proof (Certificate of Insurance) the cost is $20.00 per certificate and if there is more than one practice location with different property owners, then you will need more than one certificate. (ie: school district listed covers all locations of that school District, same for city or town owned property). BOE & Parks and Rec are normally two insurance certificates and therefore $40.00 ($20 each)
- Membership period runs from date of the application through Aug 31 of that year.
- There is a 30-day lead-time for receipt of the Certificate of Insurance. Anyone needing this certificate in less time will be charged an additional $50 fee. Too many times last year this request was made and I obliged.
- The Certificate of Insurance form is additional insurance that will cover a second practice site. The additional fee is $20. You must complete this form, which is the two (2) page manila colored sheet found immediately after the Club Charter form in your club packet.
Tournament Sanctions
- Tournament Sanction forms may be obtained from the State Chairman.
- Tournament Sanction fee's are-
- $150 for a general membership tournament, and
- $100 for all invitational tournaments regardless of the number of participants.
- $100 for Novice / Beginner tournaments. These are typically small events focused at providing an intimate environment where everyone wrestles two matches and walks away with a medal.
- Completed forms must be submitted a minimum of 30 days prior to the event day. An expedite fee of $50 will be assessed when the turnaround time is less than 30 days.
- Authorization for any particular date will be determined by the USAWCT Board of Directors. A process will be defined outlining how clubs will be selected when more than one sanctioned club requests a particular event date. Tournament request dates should be made at the General Membership meeting typically held in the month of September. Initial determination of the winter folk-style season will be made by November 1 from those requests received by October 1. Any follow-on requests will be made on a first-come-first-submitted basis and dependent on date availability or event proximity.
- Novice tournament dates will be awarded without the above process.
- Invitational events will be reviewed similar to the process outlined in # 4 above.
