Dear Connecticut Wrestlers:
I am pleased to inform you that Team CT did us all proud this weekend at the Tyrant Duals. After a couple of tough losses we turned it around and went 3-2 on the day placing 9th out of 16 teams. Our last two matches decided who would be the best of the 3rd place pool teams and that team ending up being Team CT. Both coaches of the opposing teams that dealt us our defeats express to coach Powers how impressed they where that we NEVER gave up on one match "dog tough" was what they called us and that it was obvious how bad we wanted to win. Coach Powers has coached other teams in the past and he said he would put the efforts of this team up against some of our other past impressive showings.
We would like to acknowledge our Head Coach Ralphh Powers and his coaches Pete DeCarli (Silverbacks) and Andy Mahoney (NE Elite) and how none of this would have been possible without Jim Muntz (Newington/NE ELite) one of the best wingmen out there! And a very big thank-you to Lisa Perrotta for helping us be the sharpest looking team at the tournament (on very short notice) and the support of USAWCT’s board of directors for supporting the team and all their work leading up to making a road trip like this possibly.
Coach Powers is looking forward to our next dual and would like to let any interested wrestler out there know we are still accepting Team CT members. If interested please contact Coach Powers at email newaauusa@hotmail.com or cell 860-796-1341. If you want to test yourself against some of the best wrestling out there in one of the best formats (dual meet) join now and start preparing for the next Team CT wrestle off. If you have issues or questions about this team please, contact coach Powers and he would be glad to discuss the issues with you. We are very proud of how this team competed this weekend and how they represented our state and would like to see more weights contested at our next Team CT wrestle off. ALL weight classes for these dual meets are decided by wrestle offs, winner of wrestle off gets the spot, we will take the best Team CT possible to the two remaining dual meets.
Very truly yours,
Mark A. Cammisa
